For the first time since 2009, the Prosper Eagles are heading to the Regional Finals. The Eagles (10-2) came to win tonight in the Regional Semifinal matchup against The Woodlands Highlanders (8-4). Right from the start, Prosper played strong, putting up the first points on the scoreboard, with a touchdown by Jackson Berry (#5).

And although The Woodlands answered right back, Prosper never gave up the lead. Tyler Bailey (#4) ran in the next touchdown.

Up 14-7, a muffed punt gave The Woodlands possession of the ball and a first and goal. In comes Aidan Siano – a Senior Team Captain and defensive leader – and grabs a HUGE interception for Prosper! With only a minute left in the half, the Eagles drive it back down the field for 80 yards to score a field goal with only one second in the half. Prosper headed into the locker room up 17-7.
When the two teams came back out after halftime, it looked like The Woodlands had some spark, scoring early and bringing them within a field goal. But that early touchdown would be the last points the Highlanders would put on the board. Prosper dominated the second half, the offense outscoring the 21-7 and the defense grabbing an incredible 3 interceptions! Touchdowns by Hayden Metcalf (#12), Cameron Harpole (#9) and Jackson Berry (#5) would bring the final score to 38-14.

Prosper will now face the Rockwall Yellowjackets in the Regional Final game. Rockwall (11-2) has had two huge playoff wins, inching past Allen (11-1) 60-59 in an incredibly tight game and then defeating Klein Oak (10-3) with a final score of 37-27. We will keep you posted with the game time and location – expected to be local and announced soon.
