Celina High School Cheerleaders Make History

by Jason Reynolds

This team of 20 CHS students will be making history next week as the first ever CHS Cheer team to compete in the UIL State Spirit Championship in Fort Worth. They will face over 80 4A schools in three categories; band chant, crowd leading cheer and chant and fight song. They will perform each separately and then if chosen for finals will perform all three together.

They have been working hard since football season ended and their dedication is amazing as one of the only organizations that are active all year. These athletes cheer for football, volleyball and basketball and put on pep rallies each week in the fall.

The girls perform on Friday, January 17th at 9:03am, 10:08am and 11:26am. The top 20 will advance to finals that will begin at 5:35pm. They will be competing at the Fort Worth Convention Center. We would love any and all support! Also make sure to come out to Rock City Cheer & Tumble on Wednesday, January 15 at 6:30pm for the Show Off!
